Trimester 3: Air and Weather
NEW! (April 11th, 2012)
During the last trimester of the school year, first graders will be studying air and weather. As we begin our unit, our focus will be on air, a gas. First grade will discover various properties of gases by studying air. Does air have weight? Does air take up space?
As the unit continues, we will identify and describe patterns of weather. First graders will be introduced to various weather instruments used to measure and track weather. We will study anemometers (used to determine wind direction and speed), thermometers, and rain gauges.
